dramatic 20-17 victory over the heavily favored Rams. Placekicker Adam Vinatieri slammed a 48-yard field goal on the final play of the game for the
winning points, putting the final touches on the most amazing season in New England sports history. One of the most exciting Super Bowl finishes ever,
it couldn't have been better if it was a made for TV movie. Dreams do come true for the team of destiny with an inspirational ending.
Patriots owner Bob Kraft accepted the Vince Lombardi Trophy from commissioner Paul Tagliabue and said, ''The fans of New England have been
waiting 42 years. We are the world champions. At this time in our country, we are all Patriots, and tonight the Patriots are champions.''
