  • PANEL TO DISCUSS SENIORS AND SAFE DRIVING
    “Driving Smarts for Seniors” will be the topic of a special presentation at the Bourne Senior Center, 239 Main Street, Buzzards Bay, on Friday, November 20 at 10:00 a.m. The Honorable Jeffrey Perry, State Representative, Massachusetts – 5th Barnstable District, will join occupational therapist Donna Klein-Erdman, OTR/L, to begin the free lecture at 10:00 a.m. Lunch will be provided and reservations are required.
    Rep. Perry will provide an update from Beacon Hill, including the latest on state policy initiatives affecting senior drivers. Klein-Erdman, who coordinates RHCI’s RoadSMART driver rehabilitation program, will discuss how drivers can assess their own safety behind the wheel.
    Pre-register by calling the Bourne Senior Center at 508-759-0653.
    This presentation is co-sponsored by RHCI and the Bourne Council on Aging. RHCI is a member of the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network and is affiliated with Massachusetts General and Brigham & Women’s hospitals.

  • Wareham 50th Annual Veterans Day Parade ~ was held Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 10:30 AM from Bessie Park to Town Hall
    The parade started at 10:30am. The route of the Parade was along Main Street through the center of Wareham to Marion Road. Left on Marion Road or Route 6 to Memorial Town Hall. A ceremony was held in the Town Hall. Hometown America at it's finest.

Shinseki announced the Department of Veterans Affairs will join with the Library of Congress to host a "Veterans History Countdown” on the VA Web site – www.va.gov – featuring the oral histories of Veterans from every state and U.S. territory. The Wareham Knights Chess Club meets at the Tobey Community building, 75 High St., the old library, in Wareham on Monday nights starting at 6:30 PM until 11 PM,   We have an annual tournament and are USCF, United states chess federation, affiliated. The club is for adult players but will accept serious scholastic players as well.
